I'm looking for some intriguing, fun poly fiction -- short stories or full books -- where some of the *main* characters are poly.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Extra points for queer/LGBT poly.

Re: in search of poly fiction
Sat, September 17, 2005 - 1:26 AMwell, it all depends on what you see as poly. lots of the porn/ erotica i read has main characters who are poly. especially if it's kinky.
Pat Califia has poly characters in some of the short stories.

Re: in search of poly fiction
Fri, September 23, 2005 - 12:47 AMSamuel R Delany's
Heavenly Breakfast
is a short (~ 100 pages)
slightly fictionalized account
of his time in a NYC commune in 1967.
The characters are not so much
engaging in poly
as in Fluid Relationships (see the tribe of the same name).

Re: in search of poly fiction
Mon, February 13, 2006 - 10:14 PMMarge Piercy has several books that are either overtly or at least obliquely poly: "Summer People" is about a triad, and "He, She, and It" has various brushes with poly themes. There are others of her books that hint at poly as well, but these two come to mind first.
There's also Starhawk's "Fifth Sacred Thing."

Re: in search of poly fiction
Wed, July 5, 2006 - 1:29 PMMy newest favorite trashy novel - it's called "Wolf Tales" by Kate Douglas. I found it in Barnes & Noble of all places & it's available on Amazon.com (I just checked). The entire story line is specifically Poly and magic/fantasy-oriented, with lots of sexual content between a Triad that eventually becomes a Quad relationship. Two males, two females, with a twist. Very hot!
I will say it's not written nearly so well as Heinlein or alot of other fiction I like (such as the Kushiel's Dart series), but the concept is very cool and I have to admit I got into it even while I felt it got a bit gratuitous at times. And it was - poly fiction. Which is hard to find!
Enjoy... -

Re: in search of poly fiction
Mon, January 1, 2007 - 6:39 PMGive Octavia Butlers book 'Fledgling' a read..... definite poly components to it.
An amazingly well written sci-fi book about vampires- but not the classic vampires you probably expect :)

Re: in search of poly fiction
Tue, January 2, 2007 - 1:20 PMThe Man Who Fell in Love with the Moon is sort of about a poly family. -

Re: in search of poly fiction
Sun, January 28, 2007 - 1:53 PMHulo all :) Books :) Well there is the Laurell K. Hamilton series. Both the Anita Blake series and the Merry
Gentry set are WAAAAAAAY poly with a few queer twists in the second and many in the first.
There'a also a book I seem to have misplaced called White star squadron, sci-fi in nature. In the book all marriages are group marriages with some queer implications. Good read as well :)
